FIRST-CLASS STAMP RISES TO 62P FROM TODAY

Posted on:

The price of postage increases today, with a first class stamp rising by 2p to 62p and second class by 3p to 53p.

A first class stamp for a large letter increases by 3p to 93p, while second class for a large letter goes up by 4p to 73p.

The now privatised Royal Mail said it has “thought carefully” about the impact on customers, pointing out that the last rise was two years ago. The group said that under regulations, it could have increased second class stamps to 57p.

Since 2009, prices have increased by 59 per cent for first class and 77 per cent for second class, the consumer group Consumer Futures pointed out.

Yes Response can deliver substantial cost savings on postage costs for bulk mailings.

A long term temporary storage solution

Posted on:

Yes Response is sited on a secure one acre plus plot, with a very large yard. A neighbouring business is currently undergoing a rapid expansion programme and they were looking for an immediate extra storage solution with 24 hour, 7 day access within close proximity. We sourced a local supplier and installer of temporary warehouse buildings and within 3 working days an impressive 6,000 square foot building was erected in our yard and fitted out to meet the needs of our neighbouring business, providing them with a prompt and cost effective storage solution.

Increasing levels of online shopping

Posted on:

Increasing numbers of consumers are finding the internet to be the most convenient method of shopping. In reaction to this increase, businesses must constantly review their delivery methodologies and ensure that they’re providing convenient options for their customers.
eBay have recently announced that shoppers will be able to collect their goods from Argos stores, initially it will be eBay’s top 50 sellers that can use this click and collect service in a 6 month trial before a roll out to all 735 Argos stores. It was back in 2000 that Argos coined the phrase “click and collect” which is now Britain’s favourite way to shop.

With recent safety fears and terrorist threat attacks on shopping centres, there will inevitably be even greater levels of internet shopping in the Christmas period, putting further strains on the delivery logistics. Companies need to ensure that they have plans in place for coping with the increased customer demand during this busy period. Amazon, for instance, has just announced that they will taking on an extra 15,000 workers to ensure that customer orders are still fulfilled in a timely and efficient manner.

Amazon has just been voted the UK’s favourite retailer, beating John Lewis and Marks & Spencer’s for choice, value for money and convenience.
