Improvements in postal delivery performance identified by Ofcom

Ofcom the postal regulator has confirmed that the Royal Mail performance levels have disappointingly dropped in the 12-month period to the end of March.
The target is 93% for first class mail (next day delivery), yet only a performance of 76.5% was achieved. Likewise, with a target of 98.5% for second class delivery (within three days), only a slightly better performance of only 92.2% was achieved.
Royal Mail have acknowledged they are part way through a modernisation programme and must accelerate their delivery performance. Yes Response monitors all our client mailing campaigns from posting out to receiving our “seed copy” and in most instances we receive these in the set timelines, however regional performances do vary. Yes Response and its clients recognise the importance and impact/visibility of postal based direct marketing campaigns in the era of digital overload!
