The Royal Mail is seeking historic letters and postcards for an exhibition to celebrate their 500^th anniversary this year of the postal service.  After a member of staff found a letter from her grandfather describing the start of the Battle of Jutland, when he served on board HMS Iron Duke the idea was created.  Historian Lucy Worsley who is reading all the letters is looking for more personal stories instead of legal documents portraying people’s emotions about the great issues of their day. Head of public affairs for The Royal Mail, David Gold stated that the project was to build an interesting picture of what life was really like!
